about oliver:

I spend a lot of my time on the shed roof in the warmer months
and on the back of the chair next to the radiator in the winter
I like watching (supervising really), my humans making and growing things.
they grow a lot of their own fruit and veg,
and flowers to brighten the house
and to share with friends: this brings joy to their souls.
I am very interested in what others create and grow, too.
in a previous life they were graphic designers.
she was also the editor of a magazine for 10 years. he was a civil engineer
now they spend their time playing

they have always been very keen on photography -
in the early days he had a film camera. since
moving over to the 'dark side'
she has actually started to learn something and can keep up with him,
so she can now record some of the beauty around them.

occasionally the spirit moves her and words come out poetically!
she wrote a little book once, about how the stars came to be shiny,
so oliver could say she is a poet; smiles to himself
music is another interest they both share - she prefers 'tuneful' music - likle 'bolivian baroque'
and the singing of henry vilca, for example, but he likes all sorts, the weirder the better, I say!
she likes singing - you know - people with beautiful voices who sing
not overtrained voices. as for wobbly sopranos - we all shudder.

some people liken her to a pineapple
- hard and prickly on the outside, but sweet inside.
he is very kind and thoughtful and even more like a pineapple
he petends not to like us cats, but really, he is a pushover - you just have to
pretend you've not eaten for a week and he will give you something nice to eat.
and he loves combing us so we look sleek and well-bred
'us' - he being The Other-one who likes sleeping in the polytunnel
boiling his brains, which probably accounts for why he is a bit dim

these pages are just some of the things that my humans have been up to
they make me smile
